The enrollment for the AgriStability program 2022 has been extended to June 30th, 2022, to provide farmers more time to sign up and take advantage of the support available under the program.
AgriStability is a margin-based program designed to help producers manage large income declines.
It is one of the business risk management programs under the Canadian Agriculture Partnership, and is delivered by the federal government in Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Yukon.
AgriStability is delivered provincially in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, or Prince Edward Island.
Agreed by the federal, provincial, and territorial governments, this extension enables farmers to manage the impact of challenges facing many operations such as production loss, disease outbreak, increases costs and changing market conditions.
You are eligible to participate in AgriStability if you:
- farm in Canada
- file an income tax return reporting farming income (loss) to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by the final filing deadline for the program year
- filed farming income (loss) for tax purposes for all reference years in which you farmed
- complete a minimum of six consecutive months of farming activity and a production cycle, unless you experienced a disaster
- enroll in the program, pay your fee, and file a form by the applicable deadlines
