The BC Association of Farmers’ Markets is hosting is annual conference themed Rise Up: Working together from resiliency to sustainability.
This is a once-a-year event that brings together farmers’ market managers, farmers, vendors and community partners from across BC with the goal of building connections, learning from one another and gaining inspiration for another busy season.
This three-day schedule includes innovative sessions and engaging workshops with local BC produce and vendors, markets and farmers who value sustainability, innovation and inclusivity and build connections in the community.
Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, climate change and food shortages, the growers, makers and small business owners have shown strength and commitment to building a sustainable future.
The theme Rise Up focuses on sharing stories, ideas and learnings from farmers, producers and entrepreneurs in BC who have shown remarkable resiliency, passion, and drive to contribute to their local communities using sustainable practices.
“Every year, the BC Farmers’ Market conference provides invaluable learning experiences to people that love farmers markets and who understand the importance of supporting local food production and local business”, says Wylie Bystedt, Chair of BC Association of Farmers’ Markets Board.
