Campbellville, Ontario – On Friday September 10th, famous lavender and sunflower farm, Terre Bleu Lavender Farm, closed its season with an enchanting performance by the National Ballet of Canada.
The event kicked off with a 45-minute pilates class taught by Kate Kernaghan, Director of In Studio at The National Ballet of Canada. More than 270 dance lovers witnessed behind the scenes of how National Ballet’s Apprentices warm-up, train, rehearse and perform two pieces of repertoire, narrated by Christopher Stowell, The National Ballet of Canada’s Associate Artistic Director.
CEO of Terre Bleu Lavender Farm, Ian Baird, describes the evening as magical. “There was such emotion, such hope and joy, that maybe things are getting better and maybe we are coming out, even though …. we are in a fourth wave. But there was just a release on that day that was exceptional," states Baird.
Guests immersed themselves with music provided by the Wellington Music group and enjoyed delicious food and drinks from Terre Bleu’s local restaurant partners, Jackson and Triggs and Saintly Wines.
"The joy that the dancers were feeling to be able to perform … that feeling you could see it in the dancers’ movements, you can feel it in the music and you could see it in all the people that were witnessing it,” adds Baird.
Terre Bleu is a family run business, home to over 75,000 lavender plants and many other herbs and flowers spread over 200 acres. As the largest lavender farm in Ontario, Terre Bleu welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every summer to share the positive impacts of sustainable and organic farming.
Although the season is over, the farm is still busy harvesting lavender honey and many other products that are available online.
