Regeneration Canada and Oatly are excited to announce their partnership on an exciting project that highlights a network of Canadian land managers whose knowledge and expertise have allowed them to succeed in implementing regenerative farming systems.
On Wednesday, July 27th, Lamb Farms will be featured in Stavely, a small town in southern Alberta that is hosting a part of Discovering the Possibilities.
Discovering the Possibilities is a demonstration tour that will feature many leading innovative farmers that champion soil health initiatives.
Lamb Farms is a multi-generational operation with 10,000 acres, located in Claresholm, Alberta since 1904. Josh Fankhauser is the agronomy manager and 5th generation farmer on Lamb Farms
The farm produces grain including cereals, canola, flax, peas, perennial forage, and permanent pasture on a mixture of dry and irrigated land.
Josh has integrated intercrops like peas and canola under sown companions such as annual ryegrass and clovers, as well as various blends on their grainlands.
The farm is also livestock integrated, with 550 cow/calf pairs.
The event will include:
- A discussion from Josh on the systems approach integrated at Lamb Farms
- Livestock integration with Ben Fankhauser and Waldron Ranch
- A farm tour with Josh and Joel (an independent plant and soil health educator)
