A lack of quality sleep is a pervasive problem in our society. In a national sleep survey carried out by the Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) in the spring of 2016, close to 70 per cent of respondents agreed with the statement that they wish they could get better quality sleep most nights.
During the busy seasons, it’s common for farmers to cut into their sleep time to get everything done. High levels of stress, medical conditions, and other factors can also hinder sleep. Sleep deprivation can impact health, safety and productivity.
Editor’s tip: Some people find weighted blankets good for a better night’s sleep.
