Are you residing in British Columbia? Do you classify as a lower-income family, pregnant person or senior?
Learn more about the BC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP) – a healthy eating initiative to support farmers’ markets and strengthen food security across the province.
The coupon program provides farmers’ market coupons to lower-income families, pregnant people, and seniors.
It is a collaboration between community organizations and British Columbia Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) member farmers’ markets and is supported by the province of British Columbia.
The program runs throughout the summer months when produce is most abundant across the province.
Coupons can be spent at all participating BCAFM member farmers’ markets to purchase vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, dairy, cut herbs, meat and fish.
In 2021, FMNCP operated in approximately 85 communities across BC. Each household enrolled in the program was eligible to receive a minimum of $21/week in coupons.
