Many ‘Seedy Saturday’ volunteers continue to hope for in-person events. FarmFolk CityFolk and Seedy Saturday organizers have joined forces in British Columbia to hold a virtual event February 19-21.
British Columbia Virtual Conference February 19-21, 2021
I am writing to you on behalf of provincial non-profit FarmFolk CityFolk and all Seedy Saturday event organizers.
We are collaboratively hosting a Virtual Seedy Saturday Conference from February 19-21, 2021. Seedy event organizers from across the province will join FarmFolk CityFolk in delivering a pandemic-friendly opportunity to connect with BC community members and organizations, seed businesses, non-profit organizations and learn about seed saving. Speakers and sessions will include seed saving and gardening education, movie screening, Master Gardeners Q & A, community discussion rooms, an exciting keynote speaker, poetry readings, and more.

Erin, Ontario Planning for Spring 2021
An in-person Seedy Saturday event still holds a glimmer of hope for organizers in Erin. “We will advertise for people to send orders to fill for free seeds, no matter what,” said organizers, but virtual events, and drive thru events are also under consideration. Seeds of Diversity has been facilitating and linking the different seedy Saturday coordinators across the country together with web chats to try to help plan and continue events.
Seeds of Diversity are also providing free presentations that can be used and other event resources. Erin organizers will watch and wait throughout the spring to get a better idea of the situation. Check www.erinseedlendinglibrary.weebly.com for updates.
