The Friends of Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. Charity is hosting online webinars for National Forest Week 2021 from Saturday September 18th, 2021 to Sunday September 26th 2021. While exploring the theme “Our forests – continually giving,” the week long series of virtual events are free and welcome to everyone.
Teachers, students and classrooms can learn about the “Canada wide CLS environmental education program exploring historical time lines” with the Canadian Light Source Synchotron MAD Lab.
As well, agricultural producers will explore a free smartphone app that allows farmers to place a cash value on sustainable shelterbelts, at the “Benefits of Shelterbelts – SB – Decision Support System” virtual event.
The goal of National Forest Week is to promote discussion and raise awareness about the multiple and essential benefits of unique naturalized areas and what is required to protect and enhance trees and forests.

The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc is a Canadian non-profit registered charity, formed to protect, conserve, and restore the ecosystems and biodiversity at two Saskatoon afforestation areas – 326-acre Richard St. Barbe Afforestation Area and 147-acre George Genereux Urban Regional Park in the City of Saskatoon.
