It’s official – The Canadian Centre for Food Integrity announce February 15th, 2023 as Canada’s next Agriculture Day. Set up a calendar reminder so you remember this important date.
Canadians come together every year in February to celebrate Canada’s Agriculture Day. Canada is the fifth largest exporter of agricultural and agri-food products in the world.
Although it is important to recognize the work and appreciate all of those who help produce our food every day, Canada’s Agriculture Day is especially important for farmers and producers to connect with consumers.
Since its launch in 2017, Canadians from coast-to-coast show their love through social media every year using the official hashtag #CdnAgDay.
“The day trends so high on social media, that it spills into the consumer audience,” says Severine Lavoie, Communications Manager at Canadian Centre for Food Integrity.
On Canada’s Agriculture Day 2022, #CdnAgDAy stayed trending as #1 for 5 hours and as a continuous trend for 12 hours.
Not only did it reach more than 42 million people, some voices from verified users such as McDonald’s, TELUS and many agricultural companies were a part of the conversation.
To honour Canadian agriculture and food on February 15th, 2023:
- Post a photo, take a video, or write a blog post, using #CdnAgDay
- Attend a virtual farm tour
- Share a photo of a meal made with 100% Canadian ingredients
- Ask questions about agriculture and listen to farmers tell their story
