It may be a particular affliction, but I find negative advertising objectionable, especially when it comes to food production and ag tech. It seems I am not alone. Since publishing an editorial in the March-April issue of Small Farm Canada, I received several messages. One perspective, from a market gardener, expressed the same concerns which he called greenwashing.
He made a compelling argument in addition. Ag tech hydroponic facilities “produce primarily salad ingredients, while farmers produce actual food with calories to sustain one’s lifestyle.” One can not live by salad alone.
