I love a good cookbook and this one was sent to me by John at Vesey’s Seeds and is called My PEI Cabbage Cookbook. It is a fun read, with lots of useful and interesting tips and recipes. It also has many stories that are both educational and entertaining with a surprising multicultural twist.
Ann Thurlow started a Facebook group called the PEI Cabbage Club to increase awareness of the variety and many culinary uses of cabbage besides coleslaw. It really caught on, people from all over Canada joined, “eager to share the recipes and share the love.” Many of these recipes Ann went on to author and publish in My PEI Cabbage Cookbook with illustrations by Rebecca Ford.
The cookbook has recently been featured on CBC due to it’s popularity on both sides of the border.
This spring I am adding cabbage to my garden.
