Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) is about building student awareness and connection to local farmers and the agriculture and food sector. This is done by connecting farmers, ag specialists and #AgEducation resources to classrooms in ten provinces. A reason why it is done in March is to allow more farmers to participate.
Saskatchewan’s minister of agriculture David Marit says "connecting our youth to agriculture is an important piece of strengthening Saskatchewan's agriculture sector. Presentations from industry experts can help educate children on the work that goes into producing the high-quality food that our province is known for."
