Kuhn North America has unveiled its new SDS Series shredders, designed specifically for orchard and vineyard maintenance.
These shredders feature a patented side-discharge auger system that efficiently delivers grass clippings to the base of plants, enriching the root zone with organic matter.
The SDS Series offers a range of working widths from 57.5 to 79.9 inches, ensuring suitable options for various orchards and vineyards.
The side-discharge auger system allows for precise clipping placement at the base of vines or trees.
For operators working with heavier materials, such as prunings and light, woody material, the auger can be easily removed to accommodate the thicker material.
Durability and noise reduction are key features of the SDS Series. The belt-driven rotor driveline requires less maintenance compared to chain or gear drives.
The shredders are equipped with hammer knives and two rows of counterknives, capable of effectively cutting through thick grass, weeds, and cover crops.
The knives and rotor tube are meticulously manufactured and tested for optimal balance, resulting in smooth operation and extended lifespan.
To adjust the cutting height and follow ground contours, the SDS Series utilizes a rear-mounted roller. Three adjustment slots are available to cater to different cutting height preferences.
The hydraulic offset feature allows the machine to work under wide tree canopies. The hitch can shift up to 13.8 inches to the right, enabling operators to maintain control from the tractor seat.
KUHN, KUHN Knight, and KUHN Krause products are distributed through farm equipment dealers across Canada.
