Gardening – which might also be described as micro-farming – has been a part of life for my own family upwards of 30 years.
It began with a small square of turned soil, a place where our two children could learn about growing plants and taste freshly harvested green peas.
If you’re planning to start a garden this year, the first consideration is sunshine.
While leafy greens can be grown in softly shaded areas, it’s best to have at least six hours of full sun, preferably more, to best support the process of photosynthesis.
