Johanne Ross, one of the five innovative agricultural ambassadors, is a 2021 inductee to the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame (CAHFA). The CAHFA honours and celebrates Canadians for outstanding contributions to the agriculture and food industry.
Johanne Ross lives on her family farm near the Westman community and is a passionate advocate for agricultural education across Canada. As the Executive Director of Agriculture in the Classroom Canada, Ross has brought a lifelong leadership role to ensure students and educators across Canada have access to relevant, credible, and engaging information on the diverse field of agriculture.
“This year’s inductees have all had a major impact on Canadian agriculture – elevating the profile of Canada’s pulse sector, leading Canada’s beef sector through two major crises, raising agriculture awareness and student literacy in Canadian classrooms, writing the book on Canadian agricultural legal policy and introducing game-changing technology to Canada’s cereals sector,” says Trish Jordan, President of the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame.
“Each are very worthy individuals, and we are pleased to have them join hundreds of others who have helped shape Canada’s agricultural reputation.”
Joining Ross on the 2021 list of inductees are Gord Bacon (Winnipeg), Dr. Don Buckingham (Ottawa), Stan Eby (Kincardine) and Dr. Phil Williams (Nanaimo). The 2021 induction ceremony is scheduled for November 21st at the Fairmont Winnipeg.
