Canada’s Agriculture Day is a day designated for our country to come together to recognize and celebrate the men and women who produce the food that Canadians, and the people around the globe, love to eat.

Started in 2016, Canada’s Agriculture Day is a chance for consumers and producers to connect and have conversations about why agriculture is so important and help understand where their good comes from.

Canada’s Agriculture Day is hosted by Agriculture More Than Ever, with the support of the entire Canadian food system. Agriculture More Than Ever engages in positive dialogue around agriculture and food and creates trust between producers and consumers. Since its inception in 2017, Agriculture More Than Ever has developed a very strong social media presence.

Today, whether you are online, in person or at home, there are various engaging ways to honour Canadian agriculture and food with friends, family and co-workers. Show your agriculture pride by posting any of the following on social media (photo or video) and using the official hashtag #CdnAgDay.

  • Enjoy a meal with loved ones using Canadian ingredients
  • Discuss what Canadian agriculture means to you including your family history in the industry and how you are celebrating
  • Capture a photo of the beautiful countryside that surrounds you
  • Share insights about the daily responsibilities producers have around the farm
  • Publish any recipes, pictures, or videos of you making or enjoying Canadian food or beverages
