At the opening of the 50th anniversary Agribition, the Saskatchewan government excitedly announced its new five-year partnership with Canadian Western Agribition. The agreement will provide $50,000 to the show each year from 2022 to 2026.
Canadian Western Agribition, located in Regina Saskatchewan, is the largest livestock show in Canada, blending agriculture, Indigenous culture, and festive entertainment. The show is anchored by beef cattle and features horses, bison, sheep, goats, and an extensive agribusiness trade show.
"This show puts Saskatchewan's agriculture industry on the world stage, enhancing our international reputation and providing producers with the information, technology and connections needed to reach our growth plan goals for 2030,” says David Marit, Agriculture Minister.
Agribition is an important part of Saskatchewan’s agriculture industry and contributes approximately $73 million to the provincial economy each year.
Canadian Western Agribition promotes and showcases all that Saskatchewan has to offer, attracting over 100,000 attendees a year, including 1,200 international guests from over 86 countries.
“The continued support of the Province of Saskatchewan will help CWA maintain its position as one of the most important showcases of agriculture anywhere in the world,” explains Chris Lane, CEO of Canadian Wester Agribition.
“For decades, this partnership has helped Agribition be a premier connection for sending Saskatchewan agriculture products around the world, and this announcement ensures that will continue for years to come.”
