With the loss of half of cultivated farmland over the past 20 years, rising food prices and the need for healthy local food, many people are returning to the garden to grow their own food, while farmers are looking for new ways to grow food sustainably through regenerative agriculture.
As part of their commitment to public engagement and education, Food Producers Forum will host a Free Public Forum at the Autism Society Greenhouse (70 Clinch Crescent in St. John’s) on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17, beginning at 1 PM.
This two-hour event will include a short dramatic presentation, followed by a panel discussion to identify ways to rebuild local food production by combining traditional methods with new technologies.
They invite anyone interested in the future of food in Newfoundland and Labrador to attend. Space is limited, so please register by emailing: foodproducersforum@gmail.com.
