The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair welcomes visitors in person for the first time since 2019!
From November 4th-13th, Toronto’s trademark ritual returns to Exhibition Place after a two-year pandemic hiatus.
The winter fair is also celebrating its centennial on the same year it resumes in person! This is the largest combine agricultural fair and equestrian competition in the world, drawing around 6,000 animals and more than 300,000 humans each year.
The Royal Fair’s origins date all the way back to just after the First World War, when a group of farmers, growers, producers and homesteaders got together to plan a showcase for the best and brightest of Canadian agriculture.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the people of Toronto and other urbanites to come in and see the Royal, to connect with agriculture, to see where their food comes from and to get a sense of the innovation and the resilience of rural people and farming and rural life more generally,” states Catherine Wilson, Professor of Rural History at the University of Guelph.

- Watch the world-famous Royal Horse Show ranked as the #1 indoor horse show in North America and #3 in the world that has over 1000 competitors
- Enjoy RCMP Musical Ride featuring 32 horses and riders
- Cheer on top barrel racers, pole benders, saddle bronc riders, best bull, saddle bronc and bareback riders from across the country during the Royal Rodeo
- Celebrate indigenous cultures and peoples of Ontario through a showcase of a variety of programming throughout the Fair
- Explore the best of Canadian Agricultural excellence
- Taste great food of 6 restaurants, the food court or the new Royal Foods Market
- See K9-Equine relay which is a combined horse showjumping and SuperDog obstacle race
- See a sculpture made entirely of butter at the Gay Lea Butter Sculpture Display
