Our friends at Yellow Point Farms of Ladysmith BC lost their heritage barn this week. Thankfully all people and animals are safe and well. Yellow Point Farms raise livestock and poultry including goats, pigs, sheep and chickens. They also play a significant role in events and education in their community.
It really hits home having featured Remington, Yellow Point’s Kunekune boar on our March-April cover of Small Farm Canada magazine and more recently we connected about a goat picture for May-June. Our heart goes out to all involved on the farm.
A gofundme account has been set up on behalf of the family stating:
“All items in the farm were lost to the fire - including but not limited to - animal feed, feeders, farming equipment/tools, storage facilities/freezers, meat - the list is endless.
This barn is irreplaceable, but as a community we can come together to assist the family and business with immediate needs.
Any type of donation/assistance is beyond appreciated.”
