Now until July 9th, a new botanical exhibit highlights the history of gardening in a Canadian context at the Collingwood Museum.
A Place to Grow features the agricultural crops that shaped Ontario’s economic development, to the ornamental plants that influenced social history.
This informative and visually stunning exhibit is from the Royal Botanical Gardens and was developed with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
A Place to Grow is illustrated with images from their historic catalogue collection.
In addition, there will be three new community garden boxes at Collingwood Museum.
The gardens will be incorporated in the Museum’s children’s summer programs and onsite activities leading up to the summer months.
Produce from two of the garden boxes will be donated to the Collingwood Youth Centre’s community fridge.
The third box will host a pollinator garden, with the support from Pollinate Collingwood.
So what are you waiting for? Add a Place to Grow to your must-see list of local attractions and enjoy Collingwood Museum’s exciting new features.
Visitors may pick up a complimentary wildflower seed packet, courtesy of Pollinate Collingwood.
