Kubota Canada Ltd., in collaboration with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 Community Hero contest. This initiative is now in its sixth year and continues to honor Canadians who significantly contribute to their communities through acts of kindness, leadership, and service.
This contest invites individuals across Canada to nominate community heroes who exemplify dedication and make a positive impact locally. From tireless healthcare workers and devoted volunteers to inspirational sports coaches, the contest celebrates a wide array of contributors who enhance their communities.
Steve Sweetnam, Marketing Director at Kubota Canada, expressed excitement about the platform's ability to spotlight remarkable Canadians, “We’ve seen incredible stories in past nominations, and we look forward to what this year brings.”
The grand prize winner will receive $25,000 to donate to their chosen charity, while two runners-up will each get $5,000 for their charitable causes. These substantial donations aim to support and extend the efforts of these community heroes further.
Dan Mackenzie, President of the CHL, also shared his enthusiasm about the contest's impact, stating, “This contest is a great way to acknowledge the hard work of those who improve their communities quietly but profoundly.”
Kubota’s network of over 130 dealers and 51 CHL teams across Canada helps promote this initiative, deepening their ties within local communities and showcasing the unsung heroes who play pivotal roles in their areas.
For those interested in participating, nominations opened October 8 with a deadline of November 3, 2024, with the winners announced in mid-December. This contest is an excellent opportunity for Canadians to give back to those who dedicate themselves to serving others.
