This summer, the B.C. Cherry Association (BCCA) is celebrating the 2nd annual Canadian Cherry Month from July 15 to August 15, 2024. Despite a smaller harvest due to the January deep freeze, the BC cherry crop promises an extraordinary taste experience.
This year's cherries, though fewer in number, are bursting with unmatched flavour and juiciness. Sukhpaul Bal, President of the BCCA, compares the cherries to "a rare vintage wine or artisanal cheese," emphasizing their exceptional quality despite limited quantity.
BC cherries are known for their sweet, plump, and juicy deliciousness. This year, the BCCA invites Canadian retailers and consumers to discover the essence of BC cherries. “Each cherry is a testament to the resilience of our Canadian growers and our unique growing region,” adds Bal.
In honour of Canadian Cherry Month, the BCCA is launching a consumer campaign to highlight the exceptional quality of this year’s BC cherry crop. The campaign will feature engaging social media content, exciting contests, and special promotions.
Consumers will be encouraged to share where they bought BC cherries, making it easier for fellow Canadians to find them.
Retailers are invited to participate by prominently displaying fresh BC cherries in-store, allowing customers to experience their extraordinary flavour and support Canadian cherry farmers.
Despite a smaller yield, this year’s BC cherry crop promises an exceptional flavour that is sure to delight consumers and support the resilience of our cherry farmers.
