The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario (CFFO) is calling all future leaders in the agriculture and agri-business sectors to step forward and seize an opportunity that could shape their futures.
Recognizing the need to support and nurture the next generation of professionals in these crucial fields, the CFFO has announced its annual scholarship program, offering $10,000 to aid students in their educational journeys.
This generous initiative will award four scholarships, each valued at $2,500, to individuals who demonstrate not only academic excellence but also a deep-rooted passion for agriculture and a vision inspired by their faith.
The scholarships are open to secondary school graduates who are either children or grandchildren of active CFFO members. Applicants are expected to be registered for full-time studies in agriculture-related programs in Ontario, with some consideration given to out-of-province programs.
The application process has been designed to be straightforward: candidates must complete the CFFO Federation Scholarship Application Form, available on the CFFO website and submit it along with an official transcript and proof of program registration.
Applicants are invited to share their agricultural aspirations and how their faith influences their career path through a 500-word essay or a 3–5-minute video.
With a deadline set for May 31, 2024, time is of the essence for interested students to prepare and submit their applications. Those not selected for the Federation Scholarship will automatically be considered for any district scholarships offered by CFFO Districts, potentially increasing their chances of receiving financial support.
Recipients of the Federation Scholarship will be recognized and celebrated at their local District Summer Picnic, and selected essays or videos may even be featured on CFFO's social media and in The Steward magazine.
This is not just an opportunity to secure financial assistance for education but also a chance to contribute to the dialogue around the future of agriculture in Ontario and beyond.
