In the lazy, hazy days of summer we are languishing in the past with a series of stand-out throw-back cool tools. Join us until Labour Day as we take a walk down cool tool memory lane.
Our next cool tool in review involves a mini excavation with a twist. This is a favourite for a couple of reasons – because of the cool tool and the cool operator. The operator has a sense of humour that just never quits. Here is a cool tool post from May 19, 2022, that never fails to inspire and make me laugh.
“Although the pictured workwear may be questionable, this week’s cool tool is not.
The tool being demonstrated by my daughter Ali is a mini jackhammer (also known as a rotary hammer).
This tool is handy for many tasks but in this case, Ali used it to jackhammer compacted dirt on a steep grade around a foundation to gain access to the back of an outbuilding.
The compaction was too great for a shovel, but the mini jackhammer did the job in close quarters where a regular jackhammer would be overkill.
Next week -- a battery powered cool tool demonstrated in appropriate clothing.”
