My brother-in-law has a knack of finding interesting and useful tools. He gifted an Ika squid hoe to my daughter Cydney, the family’s Lead Gardener. From all reviews -- it is a cool tool.
Ika is Japanese for 'squid' and this cultivator can be described as having a multi-pronged approach. It has three tines in one direction for digging and clearing debris. The solid steel mattock on the other end is useful for chopping small roots and trenching when seeding.
The Ika Squid Hoe is a well-made, hand-crafted tool that works well on compacted soils, and in gardens of all sizes.
Editor’s tip: This is a cool gift idea that is available online from WestCoastSeeds.com.
