According to local legend Nova Scotia served its first Donair during the early 1970s.
Donair Ingredients
- 2 lbs of medium ground beef
- 1 1/2 tsp of salt
- 3 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp oregano
- 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 4 1/2 chicken soup base mix
Mix all ingredients together and cook.

Donair Sauce Ingredients
- Tsp Garlic powder
- 1 can Evaporated Milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
Donair Sauce Directions
1. Pour the evaporated milk into the bowl. Mix in sugar until dissolved.
2. Gently add vinegar until you feel it thicken.
