Now available to farmers and landowners is Kubota’s largest center pivot trailed disc mower conditioner.
The DMC8547 “adds two new units to our line of three existing models,” said Travis Grubb, field product specialist with Kubota.
The other models in the lineup are the 8532, 8536 and 8540, with the last two numbers in the models representing the working width.
The DMC8547 has a working width of 4.7 metres, or nearly 16 feet. And a transport width of 4.5 metres, or about 15 feet.
And each model is available with a rubber roller or in a tine conditioning configuration.
“This gives the customer even more cutting capacity to get down the field quickly and get that hay mowed in a shorter amount of time,” Grubb said.
Customers may want to note that the rubber roller version of the DMC8547 is heavier than the tine configuration.
The roller model weighs 3,440 kg. (7,585 pounds) while the tine model weighs 3,341 kg. (7,365 pounds).
One feature unique to Kubota mowers is the triple blade design.
Each disc has three blades. And the DMC8547 is equipped with 12 discs and 36 blades.
“This increases our cutting capacity and decreases the overlap between discs, making it a better cut,” Grubb said.
Other features of the Kubota disc mower conditioner lineup include a fully welded cutterbar, excellent ground clearance, an integrated lighting kit and suspension springs and rod design.
